The Cold Steel Espada series draws inspiration from traditional Spanish Navaja knives but delivers a fully modern design with advanced materials. Created by custom knifemaker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson, these oversized folders come in multiple sizes and are engineered to carry comfortably despite their imposing profiles. The patented Demko Thumb Plate allows rapid deployment straight from the pocket, and the series also offers a slim tactical version with a stonewashed blade and matte black G10 handles. Each Espada features a Japanese AUS-10A stainless steel blade and Cold Steel’s Tri-Ad lock, known for exceptional strength. In testing, the XL Espada even supported 600 lbs of hanging weight—and was tough enough to hold an engine block.
